If you’re from the West and you take a trip to Hong Kong, you’re going to experience a very unique kind of culture shock. Not because it’s so different, but because it’s so similar to where you come from. Hong Kong is the land where “East Meets West,” and a history of being under both British and Chinese rule from era to era has helped to lend HK a culture of its own, where Asian culture blends seamlessly into English and American culture.

Moreso than the governance of the island city, it’s really the capitalistic culture of Hong Kong that gives it this unique feel. Hong Kong is one of the busiest trading hubs in the world with one of the most free markets. People and companies from the US, Canada, China, Japan, and Europe all come to Hong Kong to do business, and use the island as a hub for freighting.

Hong Kong currently ranks third for busiest container ports throughout the world. It is perhaps unsurprising that the top ten are all in Asia, with only the ninth, Jebel Ali, in Dubai, being found outside of Southeast Asia. Shanghai, China remains the busiest hub in the world for freighting.

Even in the more decentralized digital age, freighting companies like Quick Transfer USA still drive much of world culture.

Major freight roadways network across the entire United States and Canada. Knowing each of these highways is part of the commitment that a quality freight transport company makes to quality, on time, and competitive shipping quotes for LTL, rail and intermodal, hazardous materials, refrigerated loads, freeze protection, and exhibit and trade show shipments. Regardless of your cargo, Quick Transfer USA provides all of those guarantees to its customers.

From Point A to Point B

Understanding the network of highways that lead from point A to point B is important. Roads change every minute of every day. Weather, governmental restrictions, construction, seasonal and daily traffic are just a few of the events that can cause delays. Those delays affect travel time, can lead to unsafe driving practices, and drive up the cost of transporting freight. Quick Transfer USA guarantees that your freight gets where it needs to go safely, on time, and at a competitive price.

Share the Road

Safety is job one. It helps no one when trucks are delayed due to accidents. Knowing the highway system and how it changes helps keep drivers on time without creating unsafe driving conditions. Understanding what the best route is helps to ensure that prices remain competitive, that freight gets there on time and that the roads remain safe for all who use them.

Quick Transfer USA makes the commitment to know the highway system. That commitment is part of what sets Quick Transfer USA apart from competitors. By keeping our finger on the pulse of the major freight routes, we are able to overcome problems that slow other freight companies down. That is a benefit that we pass on to all of our customers.

As we go about our daily tasks, commuting to work or school and running errands, we often take driving for granted. When going long distances, our mission is often to head out on the highway and get to our next destination as expediently as possible.

In the course of your adventures, you may have received directions from someone or consulted a map and wondered about the different choices in roads. For example, what is the difference between highways and parkways?

It turns out that some roads were designed more for convenience and expediency, and others were created to let drivers and passengers enjoy the beautiful scenery unfold as they drove by.

During the early days of driving, we weren’t always primarily concerned with getting to our next destination. People also wanted to be able to relax and enjoy the ride. City planners created parkways, typically wide roads with planted medians. Parkways include beautiful trees and other vegetation, as indicated by the word “park” in their name.

Highways were more straightforward affairs with the goal to get you as quickly as possible from point A to point B.

When you are pressed for time, it doesn’t matter whether your destination is accessible by going on a highway or a parkway. Your primary goal is to move your items quickly and efficiently, with a minimum disruption. You’ll want to make sure to hire an experienced trucking services firm such as Quick Transfer USA. If you have any questions or would like to make an appointment for service, please feel free to contact us today.

Many small, medium, and large companies look for the best way to transport their materials in a timely yet cost-efficient way. One of the best methods is finding a freight broker like Quick Transfer USA. The fact is that they take the time to listen to every customer’s needs in order to connect them to the perfect carrier for their transporting job.

Intermodal shipping is like a relay race in which a transportation team, involving a number of companies and modes of transportation working together to get products from start to finish line rapidly. To succeed, this intermodal system requires smooth, secure connections between truck and rail companies, careful shipping to avoid product damage and a reasonable price for the complete shipping chain.

Precise logistical management of this intermodal matrix can be a major headache for companies that handle all their own shipping arrangements without the aid of a freight broker.

Sometimes a company needs to stop and consider it’s ultimate goal. Is it excellent production or excellent shipping? Hiring an effective intermodal transportation specialist, such as Quick Transfer USA, makes it possible to shift time and effort toward accomplishing a company’s central mission, such as producing the best goods possible or managing hazardous wastes in the safest way possible.

Quick Transfer can help a company arrange quick, excellent intermodal transport throughout the U.S. and Canada, including refrigerated loads and trade-show shipments. Affordable, careful shipping is available whether companies are shipping full or partial loads and are shipping on a regular basis or infrequently.

By combining its trucking service with rail partners around the nation, Quick Transfer helps customers to maximize savings and satisfaction. Quick Transfer’s intermodal services makes it possible to ship any size of materials anywhere at a price that is efficient.

With the exception of 1949, the Blue Ridge Parkway has been the most visited component of the National Park System every year since 1946. This stretch of road connects the Shenandoah National Park with the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Linking these two national parks, the Blue Ridge Parkway passes through 29 counties in Virginia and North Carolina as it stretches across 469 miles.

Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, tourists flock to the Parkway during the fall leaf season to see the patchwork quilt of red, orange, and yellow leaves that stretches to the horizon. During the spring and summer, the Blue Ridge Parkway provides a chain of swimming holes, hiking trails, and picnic spots for locals and tourists alike. However, this road is often closed for extended periods due to snow and ice during the winter.

This majestic highway is only one small section of the delivery area covered by Quick Transfer USA. Transferring freight along the Blue Ridge Parkway in the fall is one of the perks of this job. Sometimes it’s necessary to use the Blue Ridge Parkway when a shipment needs to arrive on time. However, this road is often closed in the winter due to snow and ice. These are situations where our dedication to safety and our use of intermodal transportation options make Quick Transfer USA stand out. We can find ways to move freight over and around the Blue Ridge Parkway so your delivery arrives on time and safe.

Route 1: The Atlantic Highway
Last week, we highlighted one of the most scenic drives in the country, Route 101, the Pacific Coast Highway. This week, we’re taking a look at another beautiful trip, this time on the opposite coast: Route 1 runs the entire length of the East Coast, from Fort Keith, Maine at the Canadian border all the way down to Key West, Florida, making it popular for tourists and intermodal freight transporters both.

At the northernmost section of the drive, Route 1 follows closely along the Maine Coastline. You’ll see all the quintessential New England scenery: windswept coasts, rocky shores, fishermen’s barges, and lighthouses overlooking the ocean. A particular highlight is the 12-mile stretch between Danforth and Orient, Maine, a drive so beloved it has been nicknamed the “Million Dollar View.” You might be inclined to agree when you see Grand Lake and Peakaboo Mountain passing by your windows.

Along the way, be sure to stop at Portland Head Light in Fort Williams Park along Cape Elizabeth. The Portland is the oldest lighthouse in Maine, dating all the way back to 1791. Or stop in the Seashore Trolley Museum, the world’s oldest and largest electric railway museum with more than 250 trolley cars from all over history. And it wouldn’t be a trip to Maine without eating at the Chauncey Creek Lobster Pier, where you can spend a meal or a whole day enjoying the marine wildlife both on and off your plate.
