If you’re from the West and you take a trip to Hong Kong, you’re going to experience a very unique kind of culture shock. Not because it’s so different, but because it’s so similar to where you come from. Hong Kong is the land where “East Meets West,” and a history of being under both British and Chinese rule from era to era has helped to lend HK a culture of its own, where Asian culture blends seamlessly into English and American culture.

Moreso than the governance of the island city, it’s really the capitalistic culture of Hong Kong that gives it this unique feel. Hong Kong is one of the busiest trading hubs in the world with one of the most free markets. People and companies from the US, Canada, China, Japan, and Europe all come to Hong Kong to do business, and use the island as a hub for freighting.

Hong Kong currently ranks third for busiest container ports throughout the world. It is perhaps unsurprising that the top ten are all in Asia, with only the ninth, Jebel Ali, in Dubai, being found outside of Southeast Asia. Shanghai, China remains the busiest hub in the world for freighting.

Even in the more decentralized digital age, freighting companies like Quick Transfer USA still drive much of world culture.

FedEx claims Cyber Monday to be its busiest shipping day, with 125 packages per second shipped on that day in 2013. Monday December 16 was the busiest day at UPS in 2013, with 34 million package pick ups that day.

The cause for all of this is obvious. People are buying and sending their holiday gifts, and putting shipping companies to work. Yet for those companies who rely on the shipping industry to get their products to potential customers and keep their businesses running well, the holidays can be a challenging time.

If your business needs to make a shipment during a busy time of year like the holidays, or any time of year, Quick Transfer USA can help. We offer expedited shipping services that speed up the process by providing multiple drivers and a tracking system so that you always know where your freight is. Quick Transfer USA’s time-critical service will get your delivery to its destination promptly and safely, even during the busy holiday shipping season. Quick Transfer USA offers expedited shipping, including less-than-truckload options, to help prevent holiday season catastrophes.

Major freight roadways network across the entire United States and Canada. Knowing each of these highways is part of the commitment that a quality freight transport company makes to quality, on time, and competitive shipping quotes for LTL, rail and intermodal, hazardous materials, refrigerated loads, freeze protection, and exhibit and trade show shipments. Regardless of your cargo, Quick Transfer USA provides all of those guarantees to its customers.

From Point A to Point B

Understanding the network of highways that lead from point A to point B is important. Roads change every minute of every day. Weather, governmental restrictions, construction, seasonal and daily traffic are just a few of the events that can cause delays. Those delays affect travel time, can lead to unsafe driving practices, and drive up the cost of transporting freight. Quick Transfer USA guarantees that your freight gets where it needs to go safely, on time, and at a competitive price.

Share the Road

Safety is job one. It helps no one when trucks are delayed due to accidents. Knowing the highway system and how it changes helps keep drivers on time without creating unsafe driving conditions. Understanding what the best route is helps to ensure that prices remain competitive, that freight gets there on time and that the roads remain safe for all who use them.

Quick Transfer USA makes the commitment to know the highway system. That commitment is part of what sets Quick Transfer USA apart from competitors. By keeping our finger on the pulse of the major freight routes, we are able to overcome problems that slow other freight companies down. That is a benefit that we pass on to all of our customers.

Today, billions of tons of goods travel from one loading facility to the other, with the European Union alone claiming 1.7 billion tons of materials moved within intra-continental ports. What commodities remain in highest demand world-wide?

There’s plenty of avocados available in Finland despite the fact that it’s impossible to grow them in the nation. A global market for produce, meat, and grain has led to a massive quantity of food traveling across the world, from tropical regions to temperate climates and vice-versa. In fact, bananas represent the second-most imported commodity in the United States by weight due to the national demand for a fruit that cannot be grown in the nation outside of Florida and Hawaii. That’s three million metric tons per year, or six billion pounds, or about 20 billion individual fruits.

The threads upon our backs originate from many different places world-wide. The cotton may have been grown in Egypt, the wool from New Zealand, the silk from China, the tailoring in Pakistan. Not only do clothes represent one of the most-traded goods, but they also represent one of the most-counterfeited goods, with countless millions of dollars in fake clothing and footware imported and exported annually.

There are so many ships upon the open ocean that they raise the ocean’s water level, though not by a noticeable amount. While some fads generate new interest in particular products, mainstays like food and clothing remain the most commonly shipped goods.

As we go about our daily tasks, commuting to work or school and running errands, we often take driving for granted. When going long distances, our mission is often to head out on the highway and get to our next destination as expediently as possible.

In the course of your adventures, you may have received directions from someone or consulted a map and wondered about the different choices in roads. For example, what is the difference between highways and parkways?

It turns out that some roads were designed more for convenience and expediency, and others were created to let drivers and passengers enjoy the beautiful scenery unfold as they drove by.

During the early days of driving, we weren’t always primarily concerned with getting to our next destination. People also wanted to be able to relax and enjoy the ride. City planners created parkways, typically wide roads with planted medians. Parkways include beautiful trees and other vegetation, as indicated by the word “park” in their name.

Highways were more straightforward affairs with the goal to get you as quickly as possible from point A to point B.

When you are pressed for time, it doesn’t matter whether your destination is accessible by going on a highway or a parkway. Your primary goal is to move your items quickly and efficiently, with a minimum disruption. You’ll want to make sure to hire an experienced trucking services firm such as Quick Transfer USA. If you have any questions or would like to make an appointment for service, please feel free to contact us today.

Many small, medium, and large companies look for the best way to transport their materials in a timely yet cost-efficient way. One of the best methods is finding a freight broker like Quick Transfer USA. The fact is that they take the time to listen to every customer’s needs in order to connect them to the perfect carrier for their transporting job. No matter if it’s an LTL or refrigerated loads, Quick Transfer USA will search and locate the trucking company with the most competitive rates. Serving the U.S. and Canada, this is a freight broker to be trusted.

The key is being able to find a trucking services company that provides competitive pricing, timely service, and safety for all materials. However, for a business to have to look for a trucking company on its own, it can be a time consuming and daunting task. That’s where Quick Transfer USA comes in. With its knowledgeable and dedicated staff, the best rate and most efficient logistical strategy can be obtained. Some transport options the freight broker can help with include:

Freeze protection

Hazardous Materials

Rail & intermodal

LTL

Expedited shipping is also possible with Quick Transfer USA. With staff working diligently on creating a logistical plan that will not only be prompt, but safe as well, businesses can rest assured that their shipment is taken care of.

If a client needs expedited shipping on a load, the trucking company has to do whatever it takes to get the shipment where it needs to go in the appropriate amount of time. Usually, that means using multiple drivers to keep the shipment moving continuously, even overnight, as we often do at Quick Transfer. Sometimes, however, a driver decides to do a shipment him or herself, as one driver did in 2007 in what may be the longest road transport ever conducted.

The truck loaded up Bougy-Villars in western Switzerland, close to the French border. It then drove to Moscow, Russia before spanning close to two continents. Heading east to Ufa, the truck then hit Krasnojarsk and Irkutsk in Siberia. Heading south to Ulaan-Bator in Mongolia, the truck then went back north to Chita, Siberia, east to Belogorosk in Dalni Vost and then south to the ultimate destination of Vladivostok–before turning around and driving all the way back to Bougy-Villars! The entire round trip totaled 20,500 kilometers, or close to 13,000 miles and took the driver three months to complete!

While we can’t compete with that impressive display of endurance, Quick Transfer can get your overnight shipping loads where they need to go in record time!

In the city of Kunming, located in southern China, there’s an area in the north of the Wuhua district that is the home to a handful of car dealerships and other automotive services. It’s an area not unlike many others in China or around the world except for one glaring exception: It’s also the home of a life-size, six story tall statue of Optimus Prime.

Ever since the inception of the Transformers toy line in 1984, the leader of the white hat Autobots has been the giant, authoritative but just Optimus Prime, a sentient robot with the ability to transform into an ordinary-seeming semi truck. Thanks to a popular Saturday morning cartoon show, once the most popular method of marketing toys before it was discovered $300 million theatrical films were much more profitable, the Transformers were a huge hit for Hasbro, the American toy company behind the line. And the best selling toy was unquestionably Optimus Prime, the inconspicuous red and blue long-haul expedited shipping truck that became a fearsome robot fighter.

Over the years, Transformers have become a pop-culture institution, and Optimus Prime has popped up not only in the aforementioned statues and summer tent pole blockbusters, but also in comic books, video games and a 1986 animated film in which he was voiced by no less an authority than Orson Welles, director of the greatest film of all time (and at least a couple very good ones).
